Cambodia-Australia Ties Reinforced
Cambodia and Australia recently reinforced their bilateral relationship through a meeting between Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea and Australian Ambassador Derek Yip. The two nations discussed economic and trade opportunities, especially Australia's support for Cambodia's economic progress, capacity-building initiatives, and digital transformation. Trade between the countries has diversified, covering agricultural products, textiles, and machinery. Australia's alignment with Cambodia's objectives, including the Pentagonal Strategy, is expected to drive job creation and raise living standards.

Cambodia Air Expands China Connections
Cambodia Air and China's Henan Investment Group signed an MoU to improve air connectivity between Cambodia and China's Henan Province. The partnership would result in increase flight frequency and new routes between the two countries.

Tourism Set for Year-End Surge
Cambodia is doubling efforts to attract more tourists for the year-end season through campaigns like 'Visit Siem Reap 2024'. The government considers tourism a priority sector, contributing about 13% to GDP annually. Prime Minister Hun Manet described tourism as Cambodia's 'green gold'. To further boost tourism, Cambodia is promoting itself as a safe travel destination and trying to highlight unique new tourism services.

Border Ring Road Project Launched
The government will use more than $26 million donated by more than 72 million people to build a 250-kilometer border ring road and clear landmines in Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri provinces. The project, expected to be completed within 30 months, emphasizes responsible, transparent, accountable, and economical use of the budget.
